MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich.—Central Michigan Sports Properties Radio Network—presented by Fabiano Brothers—brings CMU Football into the homes of Chippewa fans across the state of Michigan as all 12 games can once again be accessed on the seven-station network.
The Chippewa Sports Radio Network consists of six markets across Michigan including Mount Pleasant (98.5 FM/WUPS), Detroit (1270 AM/WXYT), Grand Rapids (96.1 FM/WMAX), Grand Rapids (1230 AM/WTKG), Muskegon (1090 AM/WKBZ), Petoskey (1110 AM/WJML), and Traverse City (1210 AM/WJNL). All Chippewa Sports Network radio broadcasts can be accessed nationwide at www.cmuchippewas.com on CSN Digital and through the Varsity Network app at this link.
Voice of the Chippewas Adam Jaksa enters his 10th year overall and fourth year as the play-by-play broadcaster for CMU Football and CMU Men's Basketball with the Chippewa Sports Network. Jaksa has also spent time as the sideline reporter, hosting the CMU coaches radio show, and various CMU Athletics podcasts. He also has served as CMU's lead ESPN3/ESPN+ broadcaster since his graduation from Central Michigan in 2014.
Former Chippewa offensive lineman Brock Gutierrez has served as the color commentator for football broadcasts since 2009. A 2007 CMU Athletics Hall of Fame inductee, Gutierrez was a three-year starter for the Chippewas and helped guide the program to a Mid-American Conference championship in 1994. He also earned All-MAC honors as a center in 1995. After CMU, Gutierrez spent 10 years in the National Football League with the Cincinnati Bengals, San Francisco 49ers, and Detroit Lions.
Steve Powers has worked as CMU's football spotter since 2013, first for the late Don Chiodo. Powers has been the color commentator for home men's basketball games since 2021 and has filled in for select games since 2016.
Riley Edwards and Ben Bosscher will serve as hosts for the games, interview Coach McElwain post-game, and handle engineering duties during the broadcasts. Edwards has been involved with the Chippewa Radio Network since 2022. A 2021 CMU graduate, Edwards calls play-by-play for all CMU home men's basketball games. Bosscher, a current CMU student, splits his time as a sideline reporter and CMU radio broadcaster for a variety of sports.
The pre-game radio show begins one hour prior to kickoff.
The Chippewa Sports Network also sponsors the weekly Coach Mac Radio Show, along with radio broadcasts for Central Michigan men's basketball, women's basketball, baseball, and softball. Information on the upcoming Coach Mac Radio Show for the 2023 season will be announced in the next few days.
