MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. --Â Hailing from Victor, New York, Liesel Toth was one of the key pieces on Central Michigan soccer teams that won the program's first Mid-American Conference regular season and tournament titles in 2009-10.
Â
Toth started every game in her career (87), leading CMU to no worse than second-place finishes in the MAC during her four-year career.
Â
Toth will join teammate Bailey Brandon in the Central Michigan University Marcy Weston Athletics Hall of Fame when she is inducted in a Sept. 29 (6 p.m.) ceremony at McGuirk Arena. Toth becomes the seventh soccer player to be enshrined in the prestigious Hall.
Â
Toth was named to the MAC All-Freshman Team and earned All-MAC Second Team honors in her debut season, 2008. She went on to First Team All-MAC honors in each of the ensuing three seasons, was named to the MAC All-Tournament Team in 2009, and in 2011 earned the MAC Defensive Player of the Year Award after leading a Chippewa defense that surrendered just nine goals, which at the time was a MAC record.
Â
Toth was also named Great Lakes All-Region First Team in 2011 and second team in 2009 and 2010. Toth also won MAC Player of the Week three times in her career.
Â
Toth was a member of teams that earned the program's first NCAA Tournament bid, in 2009, and its first tourney victory that same year, a 1-0 win over Purdue. With Toth on the field, the 2010 Chippewas also earned an NCAA bid.
Â
Toth also excelled in the classroom, earning Academic All-MAC honors three times and in 2011 was named to both the CoSIDA Academic All-District Second Team and the NSCAA Scholar All-America Third Team. During her career, Toth helped the program post the nation's best GPA in all four years.
