86 Chippewa student-athletes will graduate this week from Central Michigan University.

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich.—Central Michigan University and CMU Athletics will celebrate the commencement of its 2025-26 academic year this weekend. A total of 86 Chippewa student-athletes will graduate from Central Michigan this week and during the summer in various graduation ceremonies.

CMU Athletics commemorated the week with its annual Student-Athlete Graduation Celebration at the Kulhavi Events Center last Sunday, To honor their achievements, CMU Athletics previously held special graduation events for the CMU softball and baseball teams, who are both competing this weekend.

Of the 86 graduates earning degrees, 42 graduated with honors. This includes 13 Summa Cum Laude graduates (3.90-4.0 GPA), three Magna Cum Laude (3.75-3.89 GPA), and 26 Cum Laude graduates (3.50-3.74 GPA), representing 49 percent of the class.

Due to individual circumstances, several of these student-athletes may still have remaining athletic eligibility and could compete for Central Michigan in the 2026-27 academic year.
