CMU to host two indoor meets on Jan. 17 and Feb. 8, returns Outdoor Chippewa Invite on April 12
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. — Central Michigan Track and Field has revealed its 2024-25 indoor and outdoor schedules, the program announced on Tuesday.
The Chippewas' 2024-25 indoor season kicks off on Dec. 6 and 7, at the Grand Valley State Holiday Open and Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener, hosted by Boston University, respectively.
While CMU will not compete again until Jan. 17, the squad rings in 2025 with the annual Jack Skoog Open in Mount Pleasant, one of two indoor home meets for the season.
Prior to the Chippewas' second indoor home meet on Feb. 8, the Chippewa Challenge, CMU travels to Eastern Michigan's Bob Parks Memorial (Jan. 25) and Notre Dame's Meyo Invitational (Jan. 31-Feb. 1).
CMU rounds out the regular indoor season with a pair of Feb. 14-15 meets at Boston University and GVSU, before closing out at Michigan's Silverston Invitational on Feb. 21.
The 2025 Indoor Mid-American Conference Championships are to be held from Feb. 28 to March 1 at the University of Akron. NCAA Indoor Championships will take place on March 14 and 15 in Virginia Beach, Va.
CMU opens the outdoor slate at N.C. State's Raleigh Relays from March 27-29 and Cincinnati's Oliver Nikoloff Invitational on March 28 and 29.
In the beginning of a jam-packed April, CMU travels to Michigan State's Spartan Invite (April 4), Oakland's Golden Grizzlies Classic (April 5) and the Tennessee Invite (April 4-5).
The Chippewas are to host its second outdoor meet in two years on April 12, the Chippewa Invite, on the newly renovated Lyle Bennett Outdoor Track.
CMU is scheduled to travel to the Wake Forest Invitational (April 17-18) and the Kentucky Invitational (April 18-19) before heading to the Penn Relays on April 24 as well as the Hillsdale Outdoor Tune-Up on April 25.
The Chippewas round out the year at Ohio State's Jesse Owens Invitational on May 2-3 and Michigan's Len Paddock Invitational on May 9.
The Mid-American Conference Outdoor Championships will be hosted from May 15-17 by Ohio University.
The NCAA Outdoor East Preliminaries, hosted in Jacksonville, Fla, are from May 28-31, with Oregon once again hosting the Outdoor NCAA Championships from June 11-14, 2025.
