Wrestling Promotional Schedule Released

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- The Central Michigan wrestling team has released its promotional schedule for the remainder of the 2024-25 season.Â
The Chippewas have five home dual meets in January and February: Friday, Jan. 17 vs. Northern Illinois; Sunday, Jan. 19, vs. Cleveland State; Thursday, Feb. 13, vs. Kent State; Sunday, Feb. 16, vs. SIUE; Friday, Feb. 21, vs. Michigan State.Â
Friday, Jan. 17 – 7 PM: Rumble & Tumble. This is an event during which the wrestling team will compete simultaneously and alongside the CMU gymnastics team, who will take on Bowling Green in a dual meet. Reversible cards featuring a "10.0" and a "3" will be provided to fans. The "10.0" refers to a perfect 10 in scoring in gymnastics, and the "3" refers to the three points awarded for a takedown in wrestling. Sunday, Jan. 19 – 2 PM: Youth Day. Fans will receive 3-point takedown foam fingers. Spectators aged 12 and under, as well as CMU Wrestling campers wearing their camp t-shirts will receive a general admission ticket for $5 at the ticket window. Plus, popcorn will be available for $1 at concessions in celebration of National Popcorn Day. CMU wrestlers will be available in the Kulhavi Events Center atrium for a post-meet autograph session.Â
Thursday, Feb. 13 – 7 PM: Military Appreciation Night. Fans in attendance will receive maroon and gold boom sticks. Active-duty service members, veterans and accompanying guests with valid identification will receive a general admission ticket for $5.Â
Sunday, Feb. 16 – 2 PM: White Out. Fans are encouraged to wear white and 3-point takedown cards will be distributed.Â
Friday, Feb. 21 – 7 PM: Senior Night. Members of the Chippewa wrestling team in their final year of eligibility will be honored in a pre-meet ceremony. In addition, Chippewa wrestling alumni will gather for a welcome event in the McGuirk Arena Upper Club Lounge.Â
