Two-time All-MAC midfielder returns to Mount Pleasant as full-time assistant
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. — Central Michigan Lacrosse and Head Coach Emilia Ward announced the return of Brennan Paddy—a four-year member of the program as a player from 2019-22—as an assistant coach for the Chippewas in the 2024 season.
"We are excited to welcome Brennan to the staff full time," Ward said. "She will work closely with the draw unit and midfielders."
The former Chippewa standout was a two-time All-Mid-American Conference honoree as a midfielder at CMU, with a first-team selection after her junior season. She was also a three time academic all-conference selection—in the Southern Conference as a sophomore prior to the MAC's sponsorship of a championship in the sport in 2021.
The 2022 graduate of CMU took on a volunteer role with the Chippewas last season, the first of Ward's tenure with the program, utilizing her expertise on draw controls—one of many categories the program led the league in last season.
Paddy earned her Bachelor of Applied Arts in Family Studies from Central Michigan in 2022 then went on to complete a Master of Business Administration from Lindenwood University.
Central Michigan Lacrosse opens the 2024 campaign Friday, February 9 at Butler, the first of four straight on the road. The Chippewas are slated to face four programs listed in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association national poll this season: at No. 1 Northwestern (March 3), at No. 7 Notre Dame (Feb. 11), at No. 12 Michigan (March 9) and at Marquette (March 22), which received votes.
