The third and final game of the series is Sunday (1 p.m.). The Chippewas are 3-16, 0-5 MAC. Miami is 7-9, 2-3.
The Chippewas built a 5-2 lead through five innings. Miami tied it with three runs in the sixth and then went ahead with its big sixth inning.
Danny Wuestenfeld hit his first home run of the season and finished with two hits to lead CMU at the plate. Cole Prout also had two hits and Jake Brill drove in two runs.
Chippewa starter Keegan Batka allowed two runs on four hits, struck out eight, and walked four over five innings.
Ben Vitas, Trey Miller, Quin Konuszewski, Jonah Milchuck, Carter Campau and Jack Bach pitched in relief for CMU. Konuszewski (0-1), who started the seventh inning, took the loss.
The RedHawks finished with 20 hits, a season high for a CMU opponent.
