Seniors Donte Kent, Marion Lukes and Brayden Swartout are named to the Watch List for the longest running college all-star game.
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich.—Three Central Michigan Football seniors—defensive back Donte Kent, running back Marion Lukes, and offensive lineman Brayden Swartout—were named to the preseason East-West Shrine Bowl 1000 Watch List. The entire list is posted at this link.
All three Chippewas have been consensus preseason All-MAC selections. Lukes was named a preseason Fourth Team All-America pick as a kickoff returner by Phil Steele Magazine.
The East-West Shrine Bowl is a best-in-class all-star event that will take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on January 30, 2025, and televised live on the NFL Network. It is the longest-running college all-star football game in the nation and provides players the opportunity to showcase their talents to NFL scouts. The selected players are mentored by NFL coaches, in an NFL facility, and have access to NFL-level resources, facilities, player-friendly schedules, and opportunities at the highest level. For more information about the 2025 game, fans can visit this link.
Every year, approximately 1000 eligible players are drafted, signed after the draft, or attend a rookie mini-camp. The aim is for this Shrine Bowl 1000 to serve as a look into the scouting process, as well as to begin to preview college players who are currently all-star game eligible for the 2024 East-West Shrine Bowl and 2024 NFL Draft class.
Central Michigan will begin preseason practices for the upcoming 2024 season in late July. Details will be released later this week.
