
Chippewa Cross Country Announces 2024 Schedule; 39th Annual Drenth to Open Season

Chippewas travel to MAC Schools Ball State, Western Michigan and Bowling Green among nine-meet slate
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. — Central Michigan University Cross Country unveiled its nine-meet 2024 schedule on Tuesday, opened by the 39th Annual Jeff Drenth Memorial in Shepherd, Mich. on Aug. 30.
The schedule is highlighted by trips to Mid-American Conference counterparts Ball State, Western Michigan and Bowling Green, with an additional trip to Muncie, Ind. for the 2024 MAC Cross Country Championships hosted by the Cardinals.
Additionally, CMU is set to compete in Michigan State's Spartan Invitational on Sept. 13, Notre Dame's Joe Piane Invitational on Oct. 4 and will round out the regular season at Wisconsin's Pre-Nationals meet on Oct. 19.
After the MAC Championships on Nov. 2, the Chippewas will compete in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional, hosted at the Silver Creek Metropark in Norton, Ohio, on Nov. 15.
The Chippewa women trailblazed at the 2023 MAC Championships with its sixth fourth-place finish since 2017, highlighted by Emily Paupore winning the first Women's Cross Country MAC Title in program history. Paupore, now entering her final season with the Chippewas, made an all-region finish in Madison, Wis. at the 2023 Great Lakes Regional.
The 2024 NCAA Cross Country Championships are slated for Nov. 23 in Madison, Wis. at Wisconsin's Thomas Zimmer XC Course.
