Rejment Charts Double-Double as Volleyball falls on Night One in Buffalo

Natalia Rejment records 17 kills and 15 digs in a loss to Buffalo.
BUFFALO, N.Y. – Natalia Rejment's second double-double of the season for volleyball was not enough to lift the Chippewas to a victory over Buffalo on Friday night in New York.
Central Michigan moves to 4-14 on the season and 1-5 in the Mid-American Conference.
In the first set, Buffalo took a 3-0 lead over the Chippewas, but Central Michigan fought back to tie the set at 4-4, then three kills in a row from Natalia Rejment gave the Chippewas the 5-4 lead.
Coach Arielle Wilson called a timeout at 10-12, Buffalo. Central Michigan forced a timeout from the Bulls trailing by just one at 20-21 and went on to force another from Buffalo timeout and tie the set at 24. Buffalo went on to take the set, 28-26 over the Chippewas.
Rejment led the team in the first set with five kills, Brooklyn Conner had four, and Abby Olin recorded two blocks.
In the second set, Central Michigan led 15-14 at the media timeout, and an 18-14 lead forced a timeout from Buffalo's head coach. The Bulls rattled off a 5-1 run to take a 24-20 lead over Central Michigan, but the Chippewas answered with two kills, but the Bulls ended up with a 25-22 victory to take a 2-0 lead in the match.
In the third set, CMU came out hot and took an 11-7 lead that forced a timeout from the Buffalo bench. The Bulls responded with a 4-0 run to tie the set at 11. Another timeout was called by Buffalo when CMU held a five-point edge at 19-14 late in the third set.
Set point was reached for CMU at 24-15, and Buffalo rattled off two more points, but Rejment put it away, 25-17.
In the third set, Central Michigan trailed 12-15 at the media timeout, and Coach Wilson took her first timeout of the set at 16-20 in favor of the Bulls.
A timeout was called by Buffalo when CMU brought the Bulls lead down to two, 20-22 and then after that timeout, it was 21-22 with an attack error from a Bull.
Buffalo ended up taking the fourth set, 25-20 and the match.
Natalia Rejment recorded her second double-double of the season with 17 kills and 15 digs. Brooklyn Conner also added 13 kills for the Chippewas, hitting .480 on the night.
The Chippewas and Bulls will face off again on Saturday at 4 p.m. before CMU returns home to host Akron on October 17th and 18th.
