Accustomed to strong slates, Chippewas face gauntlet nonconference schedule, addition of Massachusetts to the MAC for the program’s 11th season
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. — Central Michigan Lacrosse announced its 16-game 2026 schedule Monday, highlighted by Southern California's visit to the CMU Lacrosse Complex, a first-time matchup.
Â
The Chippewas host the Trojans (April 6) along with Mid-American Conference matchups against Robert Morris (March 14), Detroit Mercy (March 28) and the regular-season finale against reigning MAC Champion Akron (April 25).
Â
CMU will make stops to national frontrunners such as Notre Dame (Feb. 8), Northwestern (Feb. 15) and Michigan (March 6), along with its alternating matchups at Marquette (Feb. 13), at Cincinnati (Feb. 20) and at Butler (March 8).
Â
With the addition of Massachusetts to the Mid-American Conference for 2025-26, the Chippewas will visit the Minutewomen for the first time on March 19. The trip will also feature a first-time meeting with UMass Lowell two days prior. Lindenwood (Feb. 28) returns to the Chippewas' schedule after last season's meeting was cancelled due to weather.
Â
Central Michigan Lacrosse had won either the conference regular season or tournament from 2022-24, appearing in the 2022 and 2023 NCAA Championships. The Chippewas will look to rebound from their 2025 season that left them out of the MAC postseason for the first time.
Â
CMU returns four previous All-MAC honorees for 2026, led by junior defender Ava Regitz (Marietta, Ga. / Blessed Trinity) as a second-team selection in 2025. Teagan Braman (Haddonfield, N.J. / Memorial) and Caye Kalbacher (Austin, Texas / Stephen F. Austin) were All-MAC Freshman recipients last spring; Natalie DiSanto (Waterloo, N.Y. / Waterloo) returns as a 2024 All-MAC Freshman selection after she missed the 2025 campaign due to injury.
