Volleyball Falls in Season Finale

The Chippewas dropped the final match of the season to Ball State, 0-3 in Muncie on Friday evening.
MUNCIE, Ind. – The Chippewa Volleyball team concluded their season on Friday evening with a loss at Ball State.
CMU ends the season 9-21 and 6-13 in the MAC, while Ball State ends the regular season 21-9 and 17-1 in the conference.
Molly Beatty, the freshman took the start for Central Michigan, Maggie Uhwat started on the outside and Rainey Weidman, another freshman started as a defensive specialist for the Chippewas.
Izzy Swiercz started the match with a kill, but the Cardinals answered with four straight points of their own.
Central Michigan Head Coach, Arielle Wilson, called a timeout as the Chippewas trailed 6-11. CMU battled out of that timeout with a 6-2 run to bring it to 12-13.
CMU brought the score within two at 17-19, and Ball State was forced to take a timeout, but a 4-0 run for the Cardinals closed out the first set. Central Michigan fell 18-25.
The second set started in a close battle. Weidman started as the libero for CMU in the set. Central Michigan took the lead at 12-11. Ball State rattled off four-straight again to take the lead by three at the media timeout.
At 22-24 in favor of the Cardinals, the Chippewa offense forced a timeout from the Ball State bench. CMU dropped the second set, 23-25, but hit. 394 in the set with four blocks.
The Chippewas trailed 11-15 after the timeout, in the third set, after Ella Peter entered and immediately blocked a ball for the Chippewas.
CMU could not close the gap between the two teams after the timeout and ultimately dropped the set 15-25.
The 2025 season concluded for the Chippewas in Muncie.
