Chippewa Sprinters Wrap up Weekend at Texas State

Rush ties 100m PR; Chippewa 4x400 wraps up three-day meet
SAN MARCOS, Texas — Central Michigan Track and Field wrapped up a busy weekend at Texas State's Bobcat Invitational on Saturday, highlighted by Kaitlynn Rush's personal-best-tying 100m race in San Marcos.
Rush, a senior, finished the race in 11.76s, tying her accolade of the 8th-fastest outdoor 100m in CMU history. She placed 13th of 50 finishers.
The Chippewa 4x400 squad of Robyn Watts, Sophia Garland, Danica Shamion and Rush capped things off on Saturday evening, finishing 18th with a squad time of 4:00.30.
CMU is scheduled to be back in action on April 4 and 5, competing at Michigan State's Spartan Invitational on Friday and at Oakland on Saturday. The following week, CMU will host the second annual Chippewa Challenge since the renovation of the Lyle Bennett Outdoor track in Mount Pleasant. The event is set for April 12.
