
Softball Signs Alexa Carter as Transfer

Alexa Carter joins the Chippewa Softball program after spending her freshman season with Purdue Fort Wayne.
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Alexa Carter announced the signing of Alexa Carter as the newest addition to the roster for Team 48.
Carter comes to CMU after spending her first season at Purdue Fort Wayne, that recently announced the discontinuation of their softball program.
Originally a native of Spring Lake, Michigan, Carter will be a catcher/utility player for the Chippewas and brings a strong bat to the lineup as well.
In her freshman campaign with the Mastodons, Carter had 20 at-bats and had two home runs and three doubles in her nine hits, also drawing three walks.
Carter played in 11 games with Purdue Fort Wayne, with six starts. She finished the season with a .450 batting average and .900 slugging percentage with nine hits in 20 at-bats, where she charted two home runs, three doubles and drew three walks. Against Oakland, Carter had two hits, and scored two times, and charted three RBI against Northern Kentucky.
In high school, Carter recorded a .440 batting average with 19 home runs, in 2023 Carter had 10 home runs. She was named an All-Conference First Team selection twice and an honorable mention once and earned All-District and Muskegon Dream Team honors twice and All-Region once. Carter was also picked as an All-Conference Honorable Mention for Spring Lake's basketball team.
Alexa is the daughter of Jeffrey Carter and Christi Dreese, has one sister, Kaelyn, and aims to major in business at CMU.
