Central Michigan Football Season Opener at San Jose State Moved to Friday, August 29

Chippewas will open their 2025 season at San Jose State on Friday, Aug. 29; kickoff scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. PT for a national broadcast on FS1.
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich.—Central Michigan and Mid-American Conference officials announced this afternoon that the Chippewas' football season opener at San Jose State has been moved to Friday, Aug. 29. The contest will kick off at 10:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. PT for an FS1 national television broadcast.
Last week CMU and league officials announced several kickoff times and television designations. Central Michigan's two non-conference road games at both Pitt (ESPNU) and Michigan (Big Ten Network) will kick off at noon ET. Central Michigan's 2025 home opener vs. Wagner on Saturday, Sept. 20 at Kramer/Deromedi Field at Kelly/Shorts Stadium will be played at 1 p.m. on ESPN+. Kickoff times for two MACtion games were also released: vs. Buffalo on Wednesday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. (ESPN2, ESPNU or CBSSN) and at Kent State on Wednesday, Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. (ESPN2 or ESPNU).
Kickoff times and other television information for the other contests have yet to be determined. Information on those games will be available later. Most of these games will be announced 10 days before the game date.
For the first time since 1972, Central Michigan will start a season with three straight road games. The Chippewas will host five games at Kramer/Deromedi Field at Kelly/Shorts Stadium, including four on Saturdays.

Season ticket holders can now opt-in for tickets to the Central Michigan at Western Michigan game in Kalamazoo on Saturday November 1. Season ticket holders can receive up to as many Western tickets as they have season tickets. For example, if a season ticketholder has purchased four season tickets, they can receive up to four tickets to the Western game. Ticket purchasers can reach out to Ticket Central at 989-774-3045 for more information.
Tickets for Central Michigan's 2025 non-conference games, including the Saturday, Sept. 13 contest at Michigan are also on sale. Chippewa Athletic Fund members will have the ability to purchase a limited number of tickets based on donation levels shown below until June 10th. Seating allocation at all games will be based on current CAF donation level. Tickets are $60.00 each for CMU's game at Michigan, $30.00 for the San Jose State game, and $20 for the Pittsburgh game. Tickets for these three games can be purchased online at www.cmuchippewas.com or by calling the Chippewa Athletic Fund at (989) 774-6680.

Head Coach Matt Drinkall and two player representatives will travel to Detroit, Mich. for the annual MAC Kickoff event, scheduled for July 23-24. The event will be held at Ford Field. Additional details will be available at a later date. The Chippewas are scheduled to open preseason training camp in August.
