Football to Open Preseason Practice on Wednesday

Chippewas’ Training Camp to consist of 22 practices in preparation for their season opener at San Jose State (Friday, Aug. 29).
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich.—The Central Michigan Football program will open its 2025 preseason training camp on Wednesday at Kramer/Deromedi Field at Kelly/Shorts Stadium and Indoor Athletic Center Turf Bay. This fall, the Chippewas will practice a total of 22 times during training camp as they prepare for the 2025 season opener at San Jose State on Friday, Aug. 29 (10:30 p.m. ET on FS1).
The Chippewas will host two preseason scrimmages on Friday, August 15 and Friday, August 22. Details on those scrimmages will be announced at a later date. Central Michigan will break camp on Saturday, August 23 and begin preparation for the season opener. Fall classes begin on Monday, August 25.
Central Michigan returns a total of 13 starters (five on offense and eight on defense) and a host of players who saw extensive action during the 2024 season. CMU's five returning starters on offense include offensive linemen Brady Ploucha and Martin Koivisto, quarterback Joe Labas, tight end DeCorion Temple, and wide receiver Tommy McIntosh. Quarterback Jadyn Glasser, tight ends Rory Callahan and Nathan VanTimmeren have also started games, while wide receivers Tyson Davis and Langston Lewis and tight end Jacob Kaminski are coming back from injuries.
On defense, the Chippewas return an experienced side led by defensive linemen Michael Heldman, Kade Kostus and Fernando Sanchez III, linebackers Jordan Kwiatkowski, Lawai'a Brown, and Dakota Cochran, and defensive backs Jaion Jackson, Caleb Spann, Elijah Rikard, Brenden Deasfernandes, Marcus Badgett, and Aakeem Snell.

Central Michigan Football season tickets can be purchased or renewed for as little as $95 for the Chippewas' five home games in 2025. Fans purchasing season tickets will have the opportunity to receive the exact number of tickets to attend Central Michigan's road game at Western Michigan in Kalamazoo on Saturday, Nov. 1. For example, if a season ticketholder has purchased four season tickets, they can receive up to four tickets to the Western game. Tickets for Central Michigan's 2025 non-conference games, including the Saturday, Sept. 13 contest at Michigan are also on sale. Tickets are $60.00 each for CMU's game at Michigan, $30.00 for the San Jose State game, and $20 for the Pittsburgh game.
