First Game of Penn State Classic Results in Loss for Volleyball

Central Michigan Volleyball generated momentum in the third set, but ultimately fell 0-3 to the Princeton Tigers.
STATE COLLEGE, Penn. – Central Michigan dropped the first match at the Penn State Classic, 0-3 to the Princeton Tigers. CMU falls to 3-8 on the season while Princeton advances to 5-3.
Set one went to the Tigers, as CMU dropped the set 10-25. Princeton utilized a 10-0 run in the final 10 points to grab the victory. Natalia Rejment led the Chippewas in set one with three of the eight kills the team totaled.
In the second set, CMU trailed by 11 at one point, but clawed their way back to win three set points against the Tigers, forcing them to take both of their timeouts.
Central Michigan ultimately dropped the second set, 17-25 to Princeton.
The momentum shifted in the third set; Central Michigan was ready to fight. CMU led by four in the set, at 19-15, when Princeton called a timeout.
The match was tied eight times before 15 points in the third. Princeton battled back from their deficit to tie it at 19 late in the set. CMU forced the set to extra points, but the Chippewas fell to the Tigers, 0-3, after Princeton grabbed getting to 27-25.
The Chippewas were led offensively by Rejment who recorded 10 kills and 12 points, with seven digs, hitting .214 on the outside. Grace Tomas and Taylor Cripe both with eight kills. Abby Olin recorded five blocks, Keelyn Muell got into three of those as well, and charted two aces.
Central Michigan will battle the 13th ranked Nittany Lions, Coach Wilson's alma mater, on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m.
