MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich.—Central Michigan will host its fourth consecutive Toilet Paper Toss/White Out when the Chippewas take on Bowling Green on Saturday evening at 7 p.m. at McGuirk Arena. For all fans, here is what you need to know along with a list of events and reminders for everyone:
- The actual Toilet Paper Toss will occur sometime after 6:45 p.m. so all fans need to be in your seats early and be ready to throw your toilet paper roll onto the floor after the dunk. President MacKinnon will pass guest Ervin "Lightning" Leavy, Leavy will pass to senior Nathan Claerbaut, who will throw down a dunk and trigger the simultaneous toss.
- Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Giveaways include white pom poms, LED foam sticks, and Beat BGSU buttons.
- Former two-time All-MAC basketball player Ervin "Lightning" Leavy (1985-87) will be honored pre-game and will help trigger the Toss. Leavy formed Central Michigan's famed 1-2 scoring punch with "Thunder" Dan Majerle that led the Chippewas to the Mid-American Conference regular season and tournament titles and an NCAA Tournament in 1986-87. Known for his outstanding scoring and shooting ability, his career 17.6 points per game average still ranks No. 4 in school history and his 1,003 points scored ranks No. 35. He is one of 36 players to score over 1,000 career points and is one of only two players in school history to score over 1,000 points in only two years played at Central Michigan.
- Admission is free for all CMU students. The first 1,200 students will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis through the Rose Hall East Entrance. Buffalo Wild Wings will provide dinner and wings to the first 200 students through the door. Students must show their Student Access Pass for entry; student IDs will not be accepted. Details on the Student Access Pass Process are posted at this link.
- If you can't make it to McGuirk Arena on Saturday night, catch the live television broadcast on ESPN+. The live broadcast will begin at 6:30 p.m. ET with Adam Jaksa hosting a 30-minute pre-game show. Fans will be able to watch the Toilet Paper Toss live, while CMU President Neil MacKinnon and CMU athletic director Amy Folan will be interviewed during the pre-game show. At halftime, Leavy will be interviewed.
- The game is designated as a "White Out." All fans are encouraged to wear white shirts and will have the opportunity to participate in the previously nationally known CMU tradition of throwing toilet paper rolls on the playing floor. Toilet paper will be furnished for all fans as rolls will be placed on each seat. The toilet paper is furnished by Mejier. After the throw, all toilet paper will be recycled.
