Freshman Van Aartsen totals 12 saves in season finale.
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan Field Hockey concluded the 2026 season on Friday, Oct. 30th against the 11th-ranked Miami (Ohio) Redhawks.
The Redhawks grabbed the lead early and refused to let the Chippewas back into the game, totaling 24 shots, 19 of which went on goal.
"We knew they were going to be deadly with their attack." Head Coach Kelly Terwilliger said.
It was another strong performance from freshman keeper Judith Van Aartsen, who saved 12 of the 19 shots on goal.
The Chippewas now look ahead to the 2027 season with lots of potential returners which include Hailey Bainer, Mora Rulli, Judith Van Aartsen, Teah Savignano, and Cameron Pluciennik.
"Different people stepped up in different moments," said Terwilliger, "putting it all together is our focus for next year."
The Chippewas finished the 2026 season with a 4-14 record and stood 2-7 in the Mid-American Conference.
