2021: Lanky hard-throwing right-hander established himself as one of the top pitchers in the nation in 2021, earning All-America honors from the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA), D1 Baseball, Baseball America, Collegiate Baseball Newspaper and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) ... Taylor also garnered the 2021 MAC Pitcher of the Year and the MAC Freshman Pitcher of the Year awards along with a spot on the All-MAC First Team … his 11 victories led the MAC, ranked No. 2 nationally and are the third most in program history in a single-season … his 125 strikeouts ranked second in the MAC, 11th nationally, and first in single-season program history … led the MAC and ranked No. 8 nationally with a 1.81 ERA … ranks second in the league and ninth in the nation with a 0.86 WHIP … ranked second in the MAC and seventh nationally with five complete games … tossed a one-hitter, striking out 10, in 1-0 victory at Toledo (5-29) … closed the regular season on a scoreless streaking covering 21 1/3 innings … allowed a combined seven hits and struck out 26 over that span … won his final seven starts of the regular season … did not allow an earned run in eight of his 15 starts … only allowed more than four earned runs in one start … named the MAC Pitcher of the Week after 12-4 win over 23rd-ranked West Virginia (3/13). He struck out 11 and allowed three hits in the game … struck out a career-high 14 in a 5-4 win over Dayton (3/20).
