2018: Mount Pleasant native enjoyed a breakout season, appearing in all but two of CMU’s games and making 56 starts, all but five at either third base or first base … earned team Most Valuable Player and Most Improved Player awards ... led the Chippewas with a .346 batting average and an on-base percentage of .520, which topped the MAC and ranked sixth nationally … drew 41 walks, ranking third in the league and 90th in the nation … was hit by a pitch a program record 25 times, and ranked fifth in the nation in that category … shared the team lead with a .425 slugging percentage … tied for second on the team with six sacrifice bunts … stole nine bases in 13 attempts … closed the season having reached base safely in CMU’s final 26 games … led the team with 19 multi-hit games … homered leading off the bottom of the first inning to spark a 13-2 win over Michigan State (5/15) … finished with a career-high four hits and drove in four runs vs. the Spartans … performance vs. MSU came in the midst of an eight-game hitting streak, during which Heeke hit .533 (16-for-30) … named to MAC All-Tournament Team.
