Bobby Naubert has served as the Central Michigan men’s basketball director of basketball operations since September, 2019.
In 2019-20, Naubert was part of a staff that led a Chippewa squad that averaged 78.3 points per game, ranking first in the MAC and 21st nationally. CMU posted back-to-back 100-point games – 134 in their season opener and then 102 in their second game of the season – marking the first time a CMU men’s basketball team has scored in triple digits in consecutive games since the 1972-73 season.
The 134 points, which came against Mississippi Valley State, is a program record.
Naubert handles the travel arrangements and equipment, as well as the team's film exchange and budget. He also oversees the team's managers, assists with the facilitation of camps and aids the rest of the coaching staff in the day-to-day operations of the program.
Naubert, a Livonia native, joined the program as a graduate assistant in 2017 and then served as the Chippewas’ video coordinator from April-September, 2019.
Naubert earned NAIA All-America honors three times and twice was named Academic All-America during a four-year career at Madonna University from 2010-14.
He earned the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference Player of the Year Award and was honored with Madonna’s Male Athlete of the Year Award and its Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award.
Naubert played professionally in Germany for two years and coached on the club and AAU levels before serving as a graduate assistant/reserve team head coach at Madonna in 2016-17.
Naubert earned a bachelor’s degree from Madonna, graduating with honors with a 3.7 grade point average and was a Dr. Leroy Walker Champion of Character Award recipient. He earned a master’s degree in history from CMU in 2019.
