
Men's Basketball Signee Keenan Garner to Compete with Under-19 German National Team at 2025 FIBA World Cup

Garner and Germany open FIBA World Cup play on Saturday vs. Slovakia in Switzerland.
LAUSANNE, SWITZERLAND—Central Michigan sophomore signee Keenan Garner (Fishers, Ind./Fishers H.S.) will play for the Under-19 German National Team when it competes in the 2025 FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup this week in Lausanne, Switzerland. The Germans open World Cup play on Saturday, June 28 vs. Slovakia, take on China on Sunday, June 29, and then play Canada on Tuesday, July 1.

A 6-foot-6 forward, Garner was born in Germany and grew up on a U.S. Army base, playing primarily against other schools from nearby military bases. He previously represented Germany in the 2022 FIBA Under-16 European National Championships.

Garner attended training camp in Germany and played two games in Serbia from June 5-8. He is now in Lausanne, Switzerland for the World Cup, which runs from June 28-July 6.

"This is a tremendous opportunity for Keenan to be able to compete on an international stage," Central Michigan Head Men's Basketball Coach Andy Bronkema said. "We are excited for the experience that he will receive, and we can't wait to welcome him to Mount Pleasant after he gets back from Switzerland."

Garner transfers to Central Michigan from IU-Indianapolis. He will join his teammates at Central Michigan following the World Cup.
