In her four seasons in Mount Pleasant, Lane has helped lead CMU to a combined 124-92 overall record, including a 48-25 mark in Mid-American Conference games. The Chippewas have finished second in the MAC West in each of the past three seasons.
In three of Lane’s four years as a Chippewa aide, CMU has won at least 30 games, and in 2013 CMU won the MAC Tournament. The Chippewas finished 2015 on a roll, winning 17 of its final 23 starts. Among the late-season victories was a win over top-seeded Kent State in the MAC Tournament.

She also earned a spot on the NFCA Division I All-Great Lakes Region Third Team along with Chippewa pitcher Rachael Knapp.
Infielders Chelsea DeLamielleure and Trista Cox joined Rentschler on the 2015 All-MAC First Team, marking the first time since 2002 that CMU has placed as many as three players on the honor squad.
Lane serves on the board of directors of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association and is a member of that group’s ethics committee. Previously she worked on the NFCA’s education and publications committee and its coaching education committee.
Prior to joining coach Margo Jonker’s staff, Lane was the head coach from 2008-12 at South Dakota State University; served as an assistant at Northern Illinois from 2005-08; and was the head coach and Director of Student-Athlete Development at Wesleyan College in Macon, Ga., from 2003-05.
