Justin Faur serves as the director of facilities and event operations for Central Michigan athletics, a position to which he was appointed in October, 2022. Faur serves as the gameday administrator for women’s basketball, gymnastics and softball and supervises a staff of more than 60 student workers.
He assists in the scheduling of practices and events in the Kulhavi Events Center and is responsible for work orders and facility maintenance requests. He is a member of several department committees and organizations, including the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee and Cultivating Chips.
Faur joined CMU athletics as an undergrad in 2017 and performed several roles as a student worker before serving as a graduate assistant beginning in August, 2019. Among the many events in which Faur has served as a coordinator are the Mid-American Conference wrestling, lacrosse, indoor track & field, and gymnastics championships, along with the Michigan High School Athletic Association State Cheer Championships. In addition, he has served as the gameday administrator for volleyball and has assistant in the day-to-day operations of the athletic department with regard to facility preparation, tear down and set up, and office reconfiguration.
Faur served in 2020-21 as a development assistant with the Chippewa Athletic Fund.
He was selected to the NCAA's Emerging Leaders Seminar and served on the selection committee for ELS and the Career in Sports Forum. He is also a member of the Collegiate Event and Facility Management Association.
Faur, a Redford native, earned his bachelor of applied arts with a major in sport management from CMU in 2019 and his master of arts in sport administration in 2021.
He resides in Mount Pleasant with his wife Madelyn and daughter Ainsley.
