Maggie Baumert joined the Central Michigan volleyball program as a volunteer assistant coach in August, 2016. In August, 2017, she was promoted to fulltime assistant coach.
Baumert’s primary duties with the Chippewas are to work with the setters and the team’s offensive systems. She also oversees office and program organization, day-to-day player relationships, and team travel.
She began her coaching career working camps while at Creighton and for three years with Volleyball Club Nebraska.
A native of Elkhorn, Neb., Baumert was a standout setter at Creighton, where she helped lead the Bluejays to BIG EAST regular-season and tournament championships in 2014 and 2015.
She was named to the All-BIG EAST First Team and the league all-tournament squad in 2015, when the Bluejays advanced to the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament.
Baumert earned her bachelor of science with a major in psychology from Creighton in 2016 and her master's from CMU in 2018.
