Won CMU’s first Mid-American Conference title in football, going 8-0-1 in the league … finished the season 10-0-1, the only time in CMU’s Division I history the program has gone undefeated … finished the season with a victory at San Jose State, the Big West Conference champions … ranked as the No. 12 team in the country by ABC Sports Television … quarterback Gary Hogeboom was named the MAC Offensive Player of the Year … seven players earned All-MAC first team honors and three were selected to the second team … the CMU defense gave up just 12.1 points per game and posted four shutouts.
