Earned 10 letters at CMU ... later served CMU as Vice President for University Relations and Secretary to the Board of Trustees from 1970-80 ... an outstanding sprinter on the Chippewa track team, running legs of two record-setting relay teams ... finished ahead of Olympic gold medalist Lorenzo Wright in the prestigious Chicago meet ... won the Robert Carlson Award as CMU's outstanding senior scholar-athlete ... a successful high school coach at St. Johns and Niles ... won eight conference titles in football with four undefeated seasons ... won six track conference crowns ... served as principal at St. Louis High School for two years and worked at Michigan State from 1961-70 in admissions.
