Smith Earns Academic Honor

MOUNT PLEASANT - Central Michigan University sophomore defensive tackle Marvin Smith (Wellington, Fla./Suncoast) was named to the Verizon Academic District IV team.

The 6-1, 265-pounder carries a 3.56 grade-point-average and is majoring in business and biology.

Smith has 30 solo and 30 assisted tackles including seven for losses of 16 yards. He also has returned a fumble 20 yards for a touchdown against Ball State.
