Kinney Drafted By Ohio Pride

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Central Michigan University pitcher/designated player Tina Kinney (Glendale, CA/Sr.) was taken by the Women's Pro Softball League's Ohio Pride in the second round of the WPSL Senior Draft on Dec. 4 in St. Petersburg, Fla.
Kinney was the first pick of the second round and the fifth overall selection.
The WPSL held three drafts in conjunction with the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Convention. The National Team Draft included members of the USA Softball team and the Elite/Supplemental Draft included USA Softball Olympic Trial and Olympic Festival invitees. The Senior Draft included the nation's top senior college players.
Kinney was 17-7 on the mound with a 1.14 earned run average for CMU in 1999. She hit .351 with five home runs and 26 runs batted in. Kinney is a three-time first team All-Mid-American Conference pick.
