Field Hockey Picks Up 2-0 Win Over Albany

SYRACUSE, NY--The Central Michigan University women's field hockey team posted a 2-0 win over Albany on Sunday afternoon at Syracuse University.
Central improves to 2-2 on the year while Albany falls to 2-3.
CMU got on the board first with a goal from Meg Lewis (Pittsford, NY/So.) with 2:06 left in the first half.
The Chippewas increased their lead to 2-0 when Maria Neiswender (Hummelstown, PA/So.) scored an unassisted goal with 32:58 left in the game.
CMU goalie Janel Spero (Shoreham, NY/So.) made six saves in recording her second shutout of the year.
Central opens up Mid-American Conference play this weekend when it faces Kent State on Sept. 15. The Chippewas take on nonconference foe Saint Louis on Sept. 16 at KSU.
