Gymnastics Falls To Eastern Michigan

MOUNT PLEASANT--The Central Michigan gymnastics team dropped a dual meet to Eastern Michigan on Sunday afternoon at Rose Arena.
The Eagles downed the Chippewas by a 195.075-193.225 count.
Highlighting the meet was Tammy Verrinder who posted a perfect 10.00 on the vault. Verrinder's 10.00 is the first in CMU history and betters the previous school record of 9.975 that she shared with Selina Nickason.
Sarah Nelson top honors on the bars with a 9.85 while Gina Black and Michele Orloski tied for second on the floor exercise with a 9.875.
Laura Chow took third on the vault with a 9.90 and Sarah Dame and Verrinder tied for fourth on the floor exercise with a 9.85.
Other event winners included EMU's Natalie Hashimoto on the balance beam (9.90) and all-around (39.425) and Leah Hashimoto in the floor exercise (9.925).
The Chippewas (1-8 overall, 0-3 Mid-American Conference) travel to Kent State on Feb. 16.
