Gymnastics Takes Second At Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Ky.--The Central Michigan gymnastics team took second place at the Kentucky Quad on Friday night.
Kentucky won the meet with 195.825 points and was followed by CMU (195.275), Bowling Green (194.450) and Pittsburgh (190.550).
The Chippewas were led by individual title winners Tara Cartier, Laura Chow and Michele Orloski.
Cartier and Laura Chow tied for first on the beam with a 9.875 while Orloski tied for top honors in the floor exercise with a 9.90.
Laura Chow also tied for second on the vault with a 9.875 while Orloski tied for seventh on the vault with a 9.775 and took fourth on the beam with a career-high 9.85.
Sarah Dame took third in the all-around with a 38.900. She also finished fifth on the beam with a career-best 9.825 and tied for seventh on the vault with a 9.775.
Other top performances were turned in by: Sarah Nelson who tied for sixth on the bars (9.80), Gina Black fifth in the all-around (38.325), Andrea Price fifth on the floor exercise (9.85) and tied for eighth on the bars 99.775), Melissa Chow ninth on the beam (9.775).
The Chippewas host Northern Illinois on March 18.
