MOUNT PLEASANT--Katie Shea doubled home a pair of runs in the ninth inning to give Ball State a 2-0 win over Kent State in the Mid-American Conference tournament on Friday afternoon.
Shea's double scored Abby Willis and Janice Campbell to snap a 0-0 tie.
With the win, Ball State advances to take on Bowling Green in Friday's final game. Kent State is eliminated from the tournament.
The game was a pitcher's duel between Ball State's Marcy Mobley and Kent State's Tracie Logar.
Both Mobley and Logar kept the opposition off the scoreboard through eight innings.
Mobley gave up just four hits and struck out seven in picking up the win for the Cardinals.
Logar was the tough-luck loser for Kent State. She gave up nine hits and two runs.
The Golden Flashes had their best chance to score in the second inning when they put runners on first and third.
