Eastern Michigan Aces Way To 3-0 Win

MOUNT PLEASANT - Eastern Michigan's Camila Olaio tallied six service aces and Emily Busch added four as EMU posted 12 services aces en route to a sweep of the Central Michigan University volleyball team on Wednesday night in Mount Pleasant. Game scores were 30-15, 30-20, and 30-24.
The Eagles improve to 13-5 in the MAC, 26-6 overall, while CMU falls to 7-10 in conference play and 12-19 overall. The Chippewas are still looking to secure a MAC tournament spot.
EMU hit .195 in the match while the Eagles' nine team blocks helped hold the Chippewas to a .013 hitting mark. Central hit for a negative percentage in game one and just .016 in game two and .111 in the third.
Kendra DeVries was the lone Chippewa in double figures in the kill column with 11. The senior also tallied four digs, three aces, and a block assist.
Ali McCrite had a team-high 23 digs to surpass the 500-dig mark this season. Jennifer Brink added eight digs while Shaleene Glombowski distributed 26 assists.
Emily Busch posted a match-high 12 kills for EMU and Katie Wagenmaker posted 10 kills and seven blocks (one solo). Four Eagles cracked double figures in the digs category with Olaio's 16 leading the way.
The Chippewas close the regular season with a road match at Bowling Green on Saturday at 3 p.m. The MAC tournament begins at campus sites on Tuesday, November 26.
