MOUNT PLEASANT -- Central Michigan University announced the signing of Bridgeport High halfback Isaac Brown as its 20th recruit for the 2003 football class.
The 6-1, 190-pounder rushed for 1,600 yards and scored 17 touchdowns in 2002, and finished his career with 3,000 yards rushing and 27 TDs.
"We expected Isaac to sign with the rest of this class on February 5," said Chippewa head coach Mike DeBord. "At the last second another school came into the picture and he had to weigh his options.
"We're glad to have him with us. He's a powerful, strong halfback with good speed. He's got a great atttitude and comes from a great family."
Isaac's brother, Jacob, has been a wide receiver the past two seasons for the Chippewas.
Brown was ranked No. 39 by the Detroit Free Press and No. 44 by the Detroit News. He was coached by former CMU gridder Fred Townsend.
