MOUNT PLEASANT -- A former Central Michigan University standout cornerback has found a new home in the Canadian Football League.
Tedaro France has signed a free agent contract to play with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL. He signed with the Roughriders in January of this year and is currently the lone Chippewa playing football north of the border.
France completed his collegiate career in 2001. He made 140 tackles during his four-year career at CMU and his 11 career interceptions is seventh best in CMU annals. The New Haven product was an All-Mid-American Conference honoree in 1998 and 2001.
The Roughriders' season begins on Thursday, June 19, when they play at the Toronto Argonauts. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. The first home game for Saskatchewan is the following week on Saturday, June 28, when it hosts British Columbia at 7 p.m.
