There will be a new look for the Central Michigan University football team this fall, and it won't just be at quarterback where junior Jeff Perry is ticketed to see the first action of his career as a starter.
The Chippewas will don new uniforms for both home and away action.
"It was just a matter of updating the fashion," explains fourth-year head coach Mike DeBord. "We wanted a new look, and everyone seems to like it."

CMU will wear its new uniforms for the first time when it plays at the University of Michigan Aug. 30 to open the 2003 season. The Chippewas will be in Kelly/Shorts Stadium the next two weeks for the home folks to see them against New Hampshire (Sept. 6), and Eastern Kentucky (Sept. 13).
The home uniforms are maroon tops with a flying "C" logo at the bottom of the v-neck. The word Chippewas is included just under that in white lettering. The numbers have a bit of a third-dimension look with a gold backdrop. There is a thick old gold stripe down each side. The home pants are old gold with a flying "C" logo above the left thigh.
The road uniforms are similar with a white jersey and maroon pants. One difference is the striping on the side extends to the front of the shoulders.
