Softball Signs Oregon Recruit

MOUNT PLEASANT -- Central Michigan University softball coach Margo Jonker announced the signing of Amy Candioto (Portland, Ore.) to a national letter of intent.

Candioto is a 5-11, right-handed pitcher/corner infielder. She attended Milwaukie High School but played strictly for a summer team. She will join the team for the 2005 season.

"Amy comes to us with a lot of pitching experience against some of the top teams nationally," Jonker said. "She has potential to be a force at the Division I level. Her size will contribute to her ability to throw smoke when she adjusts to D-I ball. Her great attitude, work ethic and size will make her a top pitcher as she improves from year to year."

CMU will lose two seniors following this season, including record-setting pitcher Amber Puchalski.
