Volleyball Falls at NIU, 3-0

DeKALB, Ill. -- Tera Lobdell led the Northern Illinois University Huskies to a 3-0 victory over the Central Michigan University Chippewas on Friday night in a meeting of two of the top individual kill producers in Mid-American Conference history.
Lobdell tallied 20 kills as NIU won by scores of 30-22, 30-28 and 30-23. She ranks second in MAC history in career kills while CMU's Emily Lovejoy is third. Lovejoy tallied 10 kills on the night.
Meghan Moore led CMU with 14 kills on .538 hitting. She also had an ace, a block solo and five block assists for 18.5 points.
NIU hit .208 for the match compared to the .157 mark CMU turned in. Only five players recorded kills for the Chippewas and all five were starters. Kristen Buter added seven kills but she had a negative hitting percentage on the evening.
Kate McCullagh posted 10 kills for NIU and three Huskies were in double figures in the digs column.
Setter Jaimeson Whitman had 35 assists and a team-high 14 digs for CMU. Ali McCrite added 13 digs.
The Chippewas (7-19, 3-11 MAC) continue their road trip tomorrow when they travel to rival Western Michigan to face the Bronocs at 7 p.m.
