Bulls Roll Past Volleyball, 3-1

MOUNT PLEASANT - A strong start in game one by Buffalo vaulted it to a 3-1 (30-25, 30-24, 29-31, 30-23) victory over the Central Michigan University volleyball team in Rose Arena on Saturday night.
The Bulls recorded 21 kills and hit .318 in the first game to secure the early momentum and they held it the rest of the match to send CMU's record to 3-19 overall, 0-12 in the Mid-American Conference. Buffalo is now 10-16, 2-10 in the MAC.
Overall the Bulls tallied 15 more kills than CMU and outhit the Chippewas, .194-.103. Buffalo also recorded more digs, 83-69, and blocks, 15-10.
Alison Baker led the CMU offense for the second-straight with 13 kills and a .250 hitting percentage. Mary Ochmanek (12) and Kate Fissel (10) also finished in double-figures in kills. Courtney Kersten dished out 50 assists in the match and Ali McCrite brought up 27 digs. McCrite needs 10 more digs to move into second on the MAC career digs list.
Five Buffalo players finished with double-digit kill totals as Brandie Clark led the way with 15. Setter Amy Brown tallied 58 assists and Jenna Mape had 21 digs to lead their squad to victory.
The Chippewas head back out on the road next weekend for their final road trip of the regular season. CMU takes on Eastern Michigan on Friday, Nov. 4, at 7 p.m., and No. 21 Ohio on Saturday, Nov. 5, at 7 p.m.
