CMU Gymnasts Conquer Ball State 195.225-191.825

Senior Kara Reighard led Central Michigan University's gymnastics team to a convincing 195.225-191.825 Mid-American Conference win against Ball State here Friday night.
Reighard won the all-around competition with a season-high score of 39.450. She won three events, posting a season-high of 9.825 on the vault, a season-high of 9.875 on the bars and a 9.900 on the floor. Reighard also tied for first with Chippewa senior Sara Burtinsky on the beam with a 9.850.
Burtinsky also took second in both the all-around competition (38.850) and on the vault (9.800).
Chippewa junior Mattie Crawford captured second on the floor with a 9.825 and tied with sophomore Sheena Smith for third on vault with a 9.775. Smith also tied for second on bars with a 9.775.
CMU junior Stephanie Langley placed seventh and tied her season-high score on the vault with a 9.625 and sophomore Jules Passy took third and posted a season-high score of 9.825 on the beam.
Leading Ball State was Jessica Surridge who tied Smith on the bars, and Kelli Davis and Kelly Watson who both tied for third on the floor (9.725).
The Chippewas remain undefeated in MAC play with a 5-0 record and are now 10-3 overall. Ball State falls to 3-13 overall, 1-4 in the MAC.
CMU will travel to Lexington, Kentucky on Friday, March 4 at 7 p.m. for a dual meet against Kentucky and Michigan State.
