Chippewas Claim 3-2 Win at Youngstown State

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - David Latour's pinch single in the top of the 10th inning helped Central Michigan University capture a 3-2 baseball win over Youngstown State University in the first game of a doubleheader here Saturday afternoon.
The win boosted the Chippewa record to 12-6 for the season.
Troy Moratti was hit by a pitch to open the 10th, was sacrificed to second by Jim Gelhof and with two outs scored on Latour's single.
The win went to junior Nathan Pung who hurled three scoreless innings of relief. He didn't allow a hit and walked just one batter. Junior Ty Dunham hurled the first seven innings, allowing seven hits and two earned runs. He walked two and whiffed three.
The Penguins scored a run in the second for a 1-0 edge but CMU tallied two markers in the seventh for a 2-1 lead. Jeff LaFavors Jr., and Tyler Stovall singled in that inning and raced home ahead of Ryan Peel's triple.
YSU scored a run in the eighth off Dunham to tie the game at 2-2.
CMU had nine hits, two each by Peel and Stovall.
