BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Bowling Green sophomore Alan Brech had a no-hitter with one out in the ninth inning in leading the Falcons to a 2-0 Mid-American Conference baseball win here Friday afternoon over Central Michigan University.
The Chippewas are now 15-8 for the season and 0-1 in the MAC, while BG goes to 15-6 overall and 1-3 in league play.
Brech lost his no-hitter when Jim Geldhof, J.T. Jones and Troy Moratti all singled to load the bases. Relief pitcher Matt Hundley then shut down both batters he faced to preserve the win for BGSU.
The tough-luck loser for the Chippewas was junior right-hander Ty Dunham. He allowed seven hits and gave up two earned runs in pitching the whole game. He struck out nine and walked two.
The Falcons scored both runs in the sixth on a bases-loaded single by Andy Hudak.
The Chippewas and Falcons will meet here Saturday in a nine-inning game at 1 p.m.
