Several Chippewas Post Solid Results at Sea Ray Relays

Knoxville, Tenn. -- Kari Taylor picked up a first-place finish in the open hammer throw with a heave of 166-4, and a sixth-place finish in the invitational hammer throw with a toss of 167-7 for the Central Michigan University women's track team at the Sea Ray Relays held at the University of Tennessee on Friday.
The field athletes were the big stories on the first day of team action. In addition to Taylor, Amanda Storck finished in a three-way tie for seventh in the pole vault with a height of 12-5 1/2, while Jackie Smart triple jumped a distance of 40-10 1/4 for a third-place finish.
Danielle Quisenberry turned in the best performance for a CMU runner, finishing the 3,000m in 10:02.92, good enough for third.
The meet will conclude on Saturday, starting with the shuttle hurdle relay at 12:40 p.m. and conclude with the 4x400m relay at 5:25 p.m.
The meet is non-scoring.
