ANN ARBOR -- The University of Michigan broke open a tight game with five runs after two were out in the sixth inning here Wednesday en route to a 7-2 baseball win over Central Michigan University.
The Wolverines led 2-1 when they scored five times.
CMU is now 16-11 for the season while UM is 18-6.
J.T. Jones singled in a run for the Chippewas in the fifth to cut the Wolverine lead to 2-1. CMU scored its second run in the seventh when Jim Geldhof walked and raced around on Troy Moratti's triple.
Kurtis Wells, Jones and Moratti all had two hits for CMU.
Josh Collmenter went five and two-third and picked up his first loss against three wins. He allowed eight hits and six earned runs while striking out one and walking two.
CMU will entertain the University of Toledo this weekend in a three-game Mid-American Conference series on Friday-Sunday. Friday's game is set for 3 p.m.
