Chippewa Field Hockey Felled at Saint Louis, 3-2

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Central Michigan University's field hockey team led 2-0 nearly 38 minutes in, but Saint Louis scored three times down the stretch to claim a 3-2 win in Anheuser-Busch Stadium in Saint Louis, Mo., on Friday.
The Chippewas got off to a great start early as the first goal came from forward Alisa Folk at 9:13 with midfielder Samatha Sandham on the assist.
CMU upped the score, 2-0, on Sandham's second assist of the game. Forward Alicia Balanesi scored from the Sandham assist off a penalty corner at 37:24.
The momentum quickly swung to SLU at 39:30. Jill Mueller scored the first goal for the Billikens on an assist from Kristin Lueders.
SLU then tied the game at 2-2 on a Michelle Sinclair goal from Lueder's second assist at 47:06.
The Billikens' match-winning goal came from Ashlea Hibshman. Hibshman scored from Mueller's pass at 49:20.
The winning goalkeeper for SLU was Amy Wasserman, who made six saves and allowed only two goals. Chippewa goalkeeper Danielle Frank made six saves as well, but allowed three goals.
The shots for both teams were dead even at 14. However, SLU had six penalty corners while CMU had three.
CMU is back in action on Saturday, squaring off against New Hampshire in Saint Louis at 1 p.m.
