CMU Postgame Notes
• The first quarter rushing touchdown by Dan LeFevour produced CMU’s first points in the opening quarter since a Rick Albreski field goal against Boston College in the season opener.
• LeFevour’s 15-yard TD run was just CMU’s second touchdown run of more than 10 yards this season.
• Tony Mikulec bombed a career-long 78-yard punt in the first quarter.
• Josh Gordy picked up his second career interception, while Pacino Horne tallied his third career interception.
• Dan LeFevour accounted for all 76 of CMU’s yards on its second touchdown drive, going 6-for-6 for 66 yards passing and rushing four times for 10 yards, including the final three of the drive for the touchdown.
• LeFevour had multiple rushing TD’s for the second time this season (Boston College).
• The announced attendance of 21,013 is the third straight game with more the 20,000 fans in attendance at Kelly/Shorts Stadium. CMU had not hosted three consecutive crowds in excess of 20,000 since 1998.
• CMU has won two consecutive games on Homecoming (37-10 over Ohio in 2005).
• The seven points allowed by CMU are the fewest given up by the Chippewas since a 17-7 win over Akron in 2002.
• It is only the fourth time in the last decade that CMU has held its opponent to single digits (4-0 in those games).
• CMU is 4-0 in the MAC for just the fifth time in program history and first time since 1990.
• Dan LeFevour’s interception on fourth-and-goal in the second quarter snapped a string of 83 consecutive attempts without an interception.
• Daniel Bazuin’s sack in the fourth quarter was his third of the season and 30th of his career. He ranks fourth in MAC history in sacks (30) and ninth in tackles for loss (55.5).
• Ball State netted minus-7 yards on four punt returns on Saturday. For the season, CMU has allowed just 11 returns for a net of 8 yards.
