CMU Postgame Notes – November 17, 2006
NIU 31, CMU 10
The loss snaps a five-game winning streak for CMU.
The Chippewas have now dropped nine straight to Northern Illinois.
CMU entered the contest having allowed just 33 yards on 16 punt returns all season. NIU posted 49 yards on two returns, including a 40-yard return by Matt Simon in the third quarter.
Dan LeFevour has thrown 19 touchdown passes this season, second-most all-time in a season at CMU. His 19 touchdown throws are also tied for the eighth-most in a career in CMU history.
Bryan Anderson matched a career-high with eight receptions against NIU. He has 58 catches in 2006, fifth-most in a season at CMU and just eight short of the school record (Reggie Allen, 66 receptions in 1996).
Daniel Bazuin made eight tackles for the second consecutive week to match his season high.
CMU is now 3-3 in road games in 2006. The Chippewas need a win at Buffalo to finish above .500 on the road in consecutive years for the first time since 1989-90.
