Two Field Hockey Players Earn Academic All-MAC Honors

MOUNT PLEASANT – The Central Michigan University field hockey team had two players named to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference team today. Sophomore forward Samantha Sandham and sophomore midfielder Amanda Lucik both made their first appearance on the squad.
Sandham, earned a 3.41 in management information systems. She is a two-time All-MAC honoree, receiving first team honors this season. Sandham led the MAC in goals (14) and was second in points (35) and now holds two places in the CMU record book, eighth for points in a season and 10th for goals in a season.
Lucik, earned a 3.96 GPA in health fitness, the highest GPA on the team. She scored five goals and had one assist accounting for 11 points, fourth on the team. Lucik earned a starting position in the midfield this season, starting all but one match for the Chippewas.
The Chippewas finished the season tied for second in the MAC with a record of 6-4, 11-10 overall.
